Inspired by the natural splendour of Corfu’s landscape and rich cultural heritage, the area of Erimitis will be developed in full harmony with the environment, both complementing and highlighting its unique features.
The main objective of the development is its harmonisation with the national and local guidelines of spatial planning, conservation and the protection of the area’s unique environmental features (the forest and natural wetlands). In this way, the project will help to strengthen the local economy of Erimitis and make it a shining example of Greek tourism by attracting affluent visitors.
In regards to the development of Erimitis, our steadfast values are:
Alongside these core values is the minimal development of the area by limiting construction to three distinct and discrete areas that utilise earth tones in harmony with Corfu’s traditional architecture, as well as the maintenance of the area’s natural and unique beauty.
As a result of these values, an unparalleled environment will be created, with forest paths and facilities that evoke tranquillity to all who visit, inviting them to enjoy the very special experience of Greek nature.
Designed to offer a balance of modern and traditional, whilst highlighting the landscape as a whole, the Master Plan perfectly incorporates the gentle structuring of the natural environment and topography.
The project is to the highest of specifications and comprises seasonal residences in three distinct and discrete areas, a hotel complex with sports facilities, outdoor swimming pools and a marina with berths for tourist vessels.
A hotel of approximately 90 rooms will be located in the first zone, and will incorporate a restaurant, function halls, and a hydrotherapy centre/spa with indoor pool. The hotel’s operation by an internationally renowned hotel chain will ensure the highest quality of both the establishment and its visitors.
Within the second and third zones, a minimal portion of land will be utilised for the creation of a select number of luxury residences, fully integrated into the natural landscape.
The construction design follows the topography of the natural environment and ensures that it enhances it by subtlety blending in so well, that it is barely visible even from the sea.
Furthermore, the enhancement of the area’s natural wealth will create a network of green areas that are all publically accessible. A path leading down to the beach will take in nature trails, wooden shelters and benches along the way.
In full respect of the island’s character, the project largely follows its unique architectural elements, whilst the Master Plan features the traditional windmill – a cultural legacy from the Venetian period that beautifully links the past, the present and the future through the use of this longstanding symbol of the island’s endurance.
